Looking for a Cello For Sale? Join me, a university trained musician as we look at some of the do’s and do not’s when purchasing a new or used cello for sale online. The purchase of a cello can be very rewarding, and if done properly can provide years and years of pure enjoyment. However, if you are not careful you could end up with a lemon that will not provide the years of pleasure and only end up causing you grief and frustration! Always make sure to do a great deal of research before you purchase any instrument. Here at mymusiciansparadise.com we strive to give you the best information possible before you buy as well as only recommend products that we ourselves have used or have extensive experience with.

Chances are you stumbled across this site because you were searching for ‘cello for sale’ or something along those lines. While we do offer some different cellos for sale here we would also like to provide you with some current information about what to look for when purchasing a cello for sale online.

Tip 1: Always Look for Solid Wood

Any quality instrument is going to be made of solid wood, and while you may end up compromising on this if your budget is somewhat limited or if you are new to the instrument, always try and purchase a cello for sale with as much solid wood construction as possible.

Here is an excellent example of an affordable solid wood cello for sale:

Tip 2: Choose The Size That’s Right for You!

Choosing a proper size is incredibly important when picking out any new instrument and it’s no different when it comes to buying a new cello for sale. If you are an average build adult male or female than a standard sized cello will suit you fine, however if you are purchasing for a child or if you are small in stature yourself then you should definitely look for a smaller 3/4 size cello for sale.

Here is a great example of a 3/4 sized cello:

Tip 3: Buy a Good Case!!

Do not skip this step! A cello is a major investment and it is also a fairly large instrument! Whether you think so or not, eventually you will want to travel somewhere with your new instrument and not having a hard-shell case can be a terrible mistake. Depending on the price of your cello you may wish to invest more or less but I highly recommend sticking with a hardshell case as opposed to a soft (fabric) case, simply for the extra protection it provides.

This is a great case that is not too expensive by a well known maker:

Tip 4: Get Good Instruction!

Don’t skimp on the instruction! If you can, aways try and find a local cello teacher. Nothing beats the experience of a experienced player for allowing you to see the fastest gains on the instrument. If you cannot find a good cello teacher in your area or it’s simply not financially feasible than you should find a good method book and STICK WITH IT! Stay with one book the whole way through and you will find that you see more improvement over time.
